One of the country’s top invoice factoring companies, Universal Funding Corporation, thoughtfully dispersed their charitable contributions in late 2013. “We believe that a successful company is obligated to give back to its community,” relays Monica Wozow, principal and Charitable Giving Chair at Universal Funding. The donations that were made during the holiday season in 2013 focused on programs that benefit children throughout the local community.
The list below highlights some of their recent charitable contributions.
- $4,500.00 was presented to the GraceSon Housing Foundation, a charity that helps single teen moms in need of a place to live. This home provides young moms and their babies a head start by offering a safe home and other life skills such as how to care for their children, how to cook, and how to clean.
- $4,000.00 was presented to the Mid-City Concerns chapter of Meals on Wheels. This charity helps feed the elderly in the Spokane community who are still living on their own but unable to afford or unable to cook daily for themselves.
- $5,000.00 was presented to Teen Closet, a charity that was started by Robyn Nance of KXLY News when she saw a void for helping teenage kids who age out of the foster care system. This organization provides new clothes, furniture, and counseling to bridge the transition from foster life to adulthood. President, Tom Townsend called to personally express his gratitude upon receipt of the donation.
- $1,500.00 was presented to Big Table, a great organization that supports the blue collar workers in the local hospitality industry. The purpose of this charity to offer aid to servers, maids, and dishwashers in crisis.
